Leave Our Games Alone, People!

I, like millions of other people, am fervently waiting for the upcoming release of the sequel for Gears of War. Who doesn’t like a little chainsaw or torque bow action once in awhile? Well, naturally, the folks over at the Yahoo! decided to post about a story about how much more violent Gears of War 2 is from it’s predecessor.

Umm, d’uh! We all know it’s going to get shipped with a big ol’ “MATURE” rating and that some of us will get carded as we wait for our game to be swipped across the cashier’s scanners.

More violence is what we want. Of course we want a sequel to have more realistic graphics, more enemies to kill and, yes, more melee moves! That’s what is needed for a series to evolve to do two things: increase their gamership as well as keeping the current fans of the series happy. I am personally looking forward to the chainsaw mini-game and “meat shield”. The “meat shield” is using dead opponent’s body as a protective shield.

Complain all they want about the violence, this is what we asked for. This is exactly what we want and hopefully the developers won’t downgrade the violence to make the censors happy.

So, why don’t you head over to your Xbox 360 and download the game play footage. I said do it!

Learning is Fun-damental

Lately, I have had the chance to talk to a few people about my programming habits and a few simple steps I can do to go a little further, atleast on the JavaScript side of things. So, since TheCinemaSource is down, I took the time to mess around with my little toolbar script.

What I have done is updated the script so that there is a better division between my HTML presentation and my JS file. The easiest way to put this is that I was able to move all my behaviorial JavaScript method calls out of my HTML file and into my external JS file. Now, the HTML file contains (Yes! You guessed it!) HTML while the JS file contains all my lovely JavaScript code.

As I was looking at the code, I still see LOTS of room for improvement but below you'll find the link to download and view the latest version of my toolbar.

P.S. Maybe I should do the same update to my blog!

TheCinemaSource.com is still down!

Forces beyond our control have kept TCS down for about a week now. But I wanted to let everyone know that you can still see what's going on with TheCinemaSource.com by visiting any one of the links below. Once we're back up, I'll try to remind everyone of our existence!

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hands On Look On G4's XPlay

Sadly, I have totally abandoned watching G4's XPlay ever since they changed their format, yet again. I just want reviews, no filler and no gaming tips. So, thanks to the show's revamp, I frequent their website, A LOT. And on today's visit I was able to snag this footage of XPlay hosts Adam and Morgan playing around with with Super Smash Bros. Morgan playing old school while Adam tries to manage with the Wii controller.

Check out the gameplay below:

Guitar Hero III Woes

Lucky me, I thought as I popped my Guitar Hero III disc into my Xbox 360 and connected my Rock Band Guitar controller expecting to rock out but what did I get instead: annoyed! The Rock Band Controller does not work at all with GHIII. Not totally my fault, I know. The box clearly says that the game could only be played with an "official Guitar Hero Controller." My bad Activision, I just thought that since Harmonix created Guitar Hero that their next generation game controller would work. It's common sense. But now I have a game I can't play because every store is sold out of the separate guitars and can't guarantee that a third party guitar would work with the game. What's a gamer to do??

I'll just dry my tears and set up my drum kit and play Rock Band. Most of the GHIII songs are on there anyways...
